Cellulite Cure - Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

Electric muscle stimulation is one of the several cellulite cure methods. Two different types of Electric muscle stimulation equipments are used for cellulite cure. The first one is a process that sends electrical current to muscle and fatty tissue. The second one is the use of a “massage like” piece of equipment.

First Type Of EMS

Physicians have used electrical muscle stimulation using approved devices for some time. They are a legitimate process approved for specific conditions.

According To Physicians, EMS Can Be Legitimately Used For

  • Prevent blood clots
  • Relax muscle spasms
  • Increase blood circulation
  • And rehabilitate muscle function after a stroke

According To EMS Providers EMS, Can Be Legitimately Used For

  • Remove wrinkles
  • Reduce breast size
  • Reduce bellies
  • Do face lifts
  • Cellulite cure

Cellulite Cure - Working Of Electric muscle stimulation

In fact there is no clinical evidence to support the claims of EMS providers, but we will effort to briefly explain how this process works according to the providers. The principle behind the Electric muscle stimulation is that the brain sends a nerve impulse to the “motor point” of the muscle you desire to change.

This signal from brain is a message to the muscle to expand and contract. Electrodes are placed on specific motor points of the muscle group(s), which are to be exercised.

When the electrical stimulation is applied through the electrodes using a mild current acting as signal to the muscle making it to expand and contract. The theory is that this makes it possible to duplicate regular conventional exercise without using effort.

Your brain is sending messages down the spinal cord through the nerves during the conventional exercises with the muscles you are using. This causes the muscles to relax and contract. Your brain is controlling the muscle using what is called voluntary muscle action.

Where as, the Electric muscle stimulation uses the outside electrical source to stimulate the nerves and send signals to your muscle to expand and contract. Through the adhesive electrodes, it sends an electrical current creating the expansion and contraction of muscles. This would be considered involuntary muscle action.

Some people believe that EMS stimulates large nerve axons, or long outgrowths of a nerve cell body. Some of these cannot be stimulated voluntarily. So, the logic is that EMS without multiplying cells, might allow for increased growth of tissue by enlarging it.

Second Type Of EMS – Massager Type

The second type of Electric muscle stimulation is a massager type of device. They claim to have the first FDA approved device for temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite Cure – Subdermal Approach

The procedure of this device is termed as subdermal approach for temporarily cellulite cure. This device consists of a hand held motorized device with two adjustable rollers and suction, which creates a symmetrical skin-fold.

The working of this device is that the skin gently folds and unfolds under the continuous action of the rollers allowing for smooth and regulated deep tissue mobilization.

As the viscosity of the subcutaneous fat layer decreases, blood flow and lymphatic drainage increase, facilitating the elimination of excess fluid and metabolites, while improving overall cellular function.
